It's called being realistic. I'm a fan of Gaga, and I'll be buying this next week. But reviews are all about expectations. For someone like Gaga, who's coming off such a massive era, she's going to let down a certain amount of people. Not to mention that every review is quoting that "greatest album of the decade" line (where did she say that? I don't even know ). Combine that with just the general backlash against anyone who gets "too popular" and I have no reason to believe this will be better received than her first two albums.

I would not be surprised with an AOTY nomination regardless, though, because she is respected musically.

I am realistic, I do expect really good reviews the album suprised NME, whom earlier on in a blog had written how they had not been sent a review copy and so were not expecting much from her.

Rolling Stone will be positive as will many others, I can see that EW hate it but they have hated Gaga this era for some unbenine reason.

I can understand that. What I don't understand is how anyone can't see how she progressed from The Fame. The production on BTW simply ***** on her early music. So if she can achieve over 70 with TF then she should be able to do the same with BTW.

Expectations are half the game. Reviewers went in to TF with little to no expectations, there have been massive expectations for BTW.

I'm not saying the album will get bad reviews, but the reviews will be fairly mixed compared to her first two albums, is my prediction. It's all about expectations.

You don't have to tell me, I don't even like The Fame. I think it's full of filler and to this day I don't own it. But so many people are yearning for "The Fame" Gaga. But of course, if she made Fame 2.0, she would've been criticized for that, but that's another post for a different day.

I find the Sputnikmusic review to be rather disappointing. I'm not saying that they shouldn't be allowed to give a 2/5 or anything (although it stings more since it counts on metacritic) but I feel like the review focuses on Gaga as a person instead of the music. The review says very little about specific songs on the album. Sonce it is an album review, they should stick to grading the actual music. And perhaps they believe that the album actually deserves that score, but if they do I would respect the review much more if there were more specific examples instead of the broad, general statements it made.

I'm afraid though that there will be quite a few reviews that are based too much on Gaga as a person though, so I guess I should be prepared.
