The Edge of Glory is about being on the brink of life (and thus, death). I don't think that embodies the theme of the album: equality and love; we are all born this way.

Born This Way makes more sense, although The Edge of Glory sounds ****in' badass.

No. The album title and song title could have two separate meanings. I'm not expecting The Born This Way title to have much meaning to the songs on the album. "Government Hooker" and "Judas" are not what I think of when someone says "I was born this way..." The Edge of Glory is much more interesting to me, and I would have preferred that over BTW. The Edge of Glory even makes more sense with that ridiculous album cover.

She was born to be who she wanted to be, born to write the songs she wanted to write, born to be fearless and unapologetic......that fits the theme for both "Government Hooker" and "Judas." I think you're trying to make Born This Way more literal rather than universal according to her album and era this time around.


And the album cover is NOT ridiculous, no one else's faves could never + would never. She takes risks, even unpopular ones at times, and it shows she's not afraid to be the artist she was born to be, whether people like her decisions or not.
