It is and "odd" situation, but her and her label have called it a Itunescountdown single. I think they're just sending some to radios for more exposure of it. I'm sure not every radio will get it. In-fact I havent heard of any radio outside the US

I agree with Cap10, Government Hooker should be the next promo single. Or if not that, Americano.

Neither Marry the Night or Yoü & I. In MTN's case, it's best to save the greatest potential smashes on the album for the album release. In Yoü & I's case, it would be excessive to release two ballads as your only countdown singles, if EOG is a ballad.

However, I always thought of a promo single as anything released for sale to make awareness for the album. It doesn't get video or radio treatment. But these things have changed from year to year.

I agree, but as of recently a lot of labels have taken to releasing promo singles with videos and/or radio adds.
I think the two biggest cases as of recently have been Papers (Usher) and I'm Back (T.I.), although I'm more than positive that both of those were at some point the lead single from their respective albums.
