Rihanna should disappear a bit after Battleship (Music Industry-wise), before retuning with a new album. She should take dancing & vocal lessons for couple of months, then comeback with a smash hit single and kill it with the choreography, and amaze the whole world.

I want that too.... but it's risky.

I mean if it ever happened then the comeback single would HAVE to be a guaranteed smash otherwise it could be Rihanna's "fading into obscurity" era.

That sounds like I have such little faith in Rih though - I do love her, but its just that the industry is just so quick paced and moves along without a second thought these days. I'm just kinda worried.

Although yeh I don't think it will happen anyway, because it's not how DJ seem to like operating with Rihanna. They like pumping music out of her - and whenever her own music is on hold between eras, they keep her relevant with features etc. ala LTWYL which was perfect.

I always envisioned Rihanna making an EP for LOUD, instead of a re-release. (Like "The Fame Monster" and "Cannibal") And it would be released at the end of this year. Rihanna has released an album/re-release every year since 2005. I really don't see her doing anything different this year. (And I also hope she doesn't do anything different, because more Rihanna music is never a bad thing. )

Are you guys serious about not wanting a re-release? It's actually the smartest option from all sides. It equals more album sales (it's the only chance the album has of crossing 10 million) plus she gets to extend the tour, and put out more music without releasing a full album. We're just in May. The Man Down video will probably come in June. 6 months left in the year. Just enough time for 2 more singles. Then what? This album era needs to last for more than a year and a re-release is the only way. Plus she's better off putting out new songs than scraping the bottom of the album for songs that might do just "ok" on the charts and won't even move any albums. Cheers is the only real single left. Apart from LTWYL2. Fading is boring as hell and would flop.
And honestly, we know Rihanna isn't disappearing from the entertainment industry for a long time any time soon. I see her re-releasing at the end of the year and wrapping up the era by mid-2012 when battleship comes out. So mid-2012 till the end of the year she's on "break" working on her new album to release by the end of 2012 or early 2013. She's not gonna take a break where she just sits at home doing nothing. We know how much she hates that. Her only real "break" will be the time she dedicates to making her 6th album. And if the music on the re-release is far better than what's on Loud, it'll only increase anticipation for her next album.

Let's say she releases the album in 2012 \ Spring. Just in time to promote with the movie because lets be honest the Loud Tour is too demanding for her to go out and promote an EP to its full potential like what Gaga does. Releasing in Spring 2012 when the UK and US leg are over she will have time to promote because I doubt the Australia leg will be as demanding that she cant re release a new album.

I don't get how you were saying she should continously release singles from. Loud till February but with a re-release she needs a 5 month break? What's the difference? I never said wait 5 months until re release. that would be dumb. i said if she IS gonna give us a re release give us in March or so in 2012 to promote with the movie. If she release Cheers as the 6th and final single from the standard edition in September/October I would expect the lead single from the re release in February. And the re release a few weeks before the movie premiere. But IF SHE isnt gonna give us a re release after Loud. I say just end the era in February with fading and give us a new album in Fall 2012. Thats a good 9 months. And a good 6months gap considering the lead single would probably be out in September.

What Im saying is that she cant just keep putting out music like that so rapidly. She needs time or otherwise people WILl egt tired of her all the time. She should be able to have people 'miss" her and then get hyped up for her future release which will bring great first week sales if the song is great. Im not saying take 2 year breaks- I would never want that but 6 months to 1 year is sufficient enough.

I hope she takes somewhat of a break. I was okay with how Loud was pushed out so fast because we all know the Rated R era emotionally for her was over. I'd be happy with a new album at least a year after the era ends completely, with maybe a feature if they want to keep her "relevant". As long as she comes back with a great lead single I think it'd be fine anyway. It's somewhat clear that nowadays it doesn't matter who you are, if your single sucks people aren't interested.

I somewhat agree with you. I agree that there will only be a 2-3 month gap between last LOUD single and first re-release single. But when you say "there is no way she's going to put out a re-release around the time her movie is coming out" I am wondering, why? Wouldn't releasing Battleship and LOUD re-release at the same time be beneficial? At events promoting Battleship. she can talk about the re-release, for good promotion. And vice-versa, at events promoting the re-release, she can mention Battleship.

When I read your comment, I was thinking that if LOUD gets a re-release, maybe one of the new tracks will be a single from the Battleship soundtrack. I don't know if I would enjoy it, but it might happen.
