It's not HUGE but it has some effect

This. And it's not only one or two songs, but sometimes it is a whole era. Every artists will have to face a time when they are not as relevant as before, especially when competition is this high. Everything can happen.
Btw radio is very unpredictable, Judas is very catchy and radio friendly, but radio seem to ignore it.
