The only thing that I have an issue with was with her saying the word "retard" especially coming from her when she is all about being different. But then again this is just an article. How do we really know she said this word for word? So I don't know.

Not really. I have heard both and they don't sound that similar, people just like to exaggerate their minute similarities into something massive.
