As a Rihanna stan, I actually do agree with you. The photoshoot and fashion of the Rated R era was much darker than the music itself. But I still think Rated R is "dark", in the sense that it was darker than the mainstream music that was out at the time. But I would hardly consider Rated R "dark pop".

right it wasnt like dark on some ozzie osbourne **** but it was dark compared to what she had released previously and what was out at the time...sans gaga but I wont go there
This wasn't a diss. She was basically saying that her music is darker than the music on Rihanna's Rated R. And her dissing Rihanna wouldn't ruin her career because (1.) no one cares that much about Rihanna and (2.) Natalia doesn't really have a career (yet).
