Haters? I do not see any 'haters' in this thread....
No one said that her opening numbers are bad or not great, someone simply stated that Britney Spears is losing popularity in the US ( I think that's what s/he said)

Black and Yellow = #1 (1 Week)
His new single is climbing, but one of his PROMO singles is #6 on the Hot 100 & #1 on Itunes.
Not to mention he has another NON SINGLE in the Top 20 of Itunes.
As of now, his singles have done Better than Britneys have in terms of charts.

they predicted low numbers for Circus at first, then they revised it, and then Circus even outsold that by 100k.... I think they are being conservative with their estimates. I expect around 400k.

Even if she ends up doing "only" 300,000 people should look at Christina/Avril and see that in comparison she's doing great for a pop veteran with her 7th studio album after over 12 years.

I was going to say that. Pop stars have such short shelf lives. 300k after 13 years, plus the fact that she's kind of half-assing it, is pretty impressive.

300k on the surface, looks dissapointing.
But honestly, it's probably the most reflective of what her actual fan base is. She is definitely not earning any new fans with these performances or singles - and is simply satisfying her current ones.
Blackout started with 255k I think - and that was in the hayday of her meltdown. Who bought that album? Strictly fans. Circus started with 500k. Who bought that album? Fans + other music fans who wanted to be a part of the "comeback" - general music fans who thought it was great to have her back.
So for the number to be a little more Blackout, and a little less Circus, is not surprising, and still very solid.
