Britney is what is wrong with the music industry because they took this country pageant girl with no talent and transformed her into a runaway success.... she is the blueprint for Rihanna, Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Hilary Duff and the other Disney girls. Madonna was never known for her voice but she always was one step ahead in the US at least with her music. The only exception is when she tried to do R&B and Hip-Hop because it was the "in" thing to do (Bedtimes Stories & Hard Candy). Otherwise her music was never groundbreaking since Europe has been doing dance music before her and she came in the game doing the sugary Pop mess that Debbie Gibson and Tiffany was known for. Madonna is a controversial performer and thats where she made her biggest impact and mark. She was the Queen of Pop Culture for at least 20 years. She has sizeable talent and can easily do a world tour and every date be sold out. Madge is more of a Queen in that sense than Britney will ever be.
I don't listen to their type of music to honestly see any true impact on music. All of my Pop favorites are vocalists first and foremost so that takes Madge and Brit out of the equation. LMAO
