On the contrary, I've been rather shocked and impressed with how effectively Bieber is shaking that stigma. Initially, it was certainly embarrassing, in general, for a male to admit liking Justin Bieber. While it still may be that way for younger teenagers (12-14), I've noticed a lot of 18+ straight males are now cool with him.
I'm not really sure what has caused this change, but he's become one of those odd things that straight guys act like they are pretending to like because it's embarrassing and fun, but at the same time, they really do like him. I know many straight males who have gone to see his movie. I know many straight males that have purchased his music. I know many straight males that "like" him on Facebook. It'll definitely be some time before we see if he is really able to shake the stigma, but he's doing it much more successfully than I could have ever imagined.
