I see that E.T.'s kinda decreasing (a little bit) on itunes....which means the chance is still there.

That's not today's update and even if it was idk why you'd be disappointed since that was an amazing update.
But anyway, good update for S&M today. Kinda mediocre updates overall, though.

Dance music becoming popular was a forgone conclusion as soon as the Timba-brigade broke in 2006 with Loose, Shock Value, and FutureSex/LoveSounds. Gaga didn't bring dance music back, the tide and trend was already shifting before JD started blowing up. We could see it in the material for Rihanna, Britney, and also the slightly more dance sound that was found in Dr. Luke productions with Katy (Hot N Cold) and P!nk (So What).

Timba's collaborations generally weren't pure dance to the degree of JD/Poker Face, and it wouldn't explain the hesitation that some stations had to play JD because it was "too" dance. Even if you can't credit her with starting the trend full-stop (which is why I said you could argue), she definitely brought it a long way.

But wasn't "Just Dance" getting moderate airplay on Urban? It charted on the Hip Hop/R&B charts. I think it peaked around 70 something.

It also doesn't explain why stations hesitated to play JD, but a year later were all over Tik Tok.

JD could have been a cross over smash if she put a rapper on it vs. the guy Colby. They played that at urban clubs...Now poker face, no ma'am.

Hmm, I've heard this argument before, and I'm not sure where some people get this from.
Who exactly said that "Just Dance" was "too" dance to get played at radio? How was "Just Dance" any more "dancy" than "Don't Stop The Music," "S.O.S.," "Sexyback," etc? I think most radio DJs were hesitant to play it because GaGa wasn't established or too new compared to the other artists who were experimenting with the dance sound during that time. It couldn't have been "too" dancy if it got some spins at Urban radio.
