Assuming the second version exists, they'll probably release it in April or May. Releasing a charity version to get an extra week at #1 on the Hot 100 could come off opportunistic and desperate.

Plus they don't want it to be competing with the original or seen as they had to release it because the first one wasn't good enough.

Not to mention the world is focused on donating to Japan and some idiot could make an issue like she's trying to take focus off of that.

Releasing a new version later will revitalize interest in the song when it's kind of dried out and give the song more longevity rather than an extra week on top.

Agreed except that it will coincide w/ Judas if they wait too long.

I'm actually not sure I expect Judas to be a huge seller, either. It seems like it's going to be an in-your-face hit with a very visually stunning video to try to sell albums. We'll see though. I certainly wish it the greatest success.

I know that California Gurls had a 9 weeks run on the Canadian Hot 100. So, BTW is at 5 now and 6 is pretty much on the lock!

Still, I'm not really sure what to make of Judas. It really feels like they are drawing out Born This Way as far as they can. Maybe they will do the same to Judas. I kind of feel like Judas might get swallowed in the end by the hype of the album, but I sure do hope it is something of monumental success, like Bad Romance. Then Marry The Night and Edge of Glory can end my life.



PS: I hope Gaga comes for that 1 million single week with Judas + American Idol finale performance.

Im glad I'm not alone in worrying about Judas's(?) sales I don't think it'll live up to the success of BTW but I hope for a #1 debut and hopefully some weeks after that
