Just thought I'd let you all know purchasing multiple copies of songs does NOT have any affect on the iTunes chart.
I believe gifting does, as opposed to multiple purchases by the same account, which does not. Also, when some people say they've bought it multiple times, they've used multiple accounts, which does count.

I believe gifting does, too. I know it has some sort of restriction. I'm thinking you can't use store credit to gift songs. I can't remember. But, yes, I do think gifting does count towards the iTunes chart. I didn't even think of multiple accounts. Honestly, I had no idea you could even do that.
and I though it stalled after 2 days of its release
