If the single is dead then it would be way farther down in airplay and on iTunes. Yes, she could do better. But I would rather have new music from her than nothing. And the promotion we will get for the album will hold me over on my dosage of Publicney for a while.

Shakira's She Wolf didn't start out that big anyway (yes it could have been much bigger than it could have been and deserved to be but that is a different story). Hold It Against Me has bigger hype still than She Wolf. Womanizer fell to #12 on the Hot 100 in it's sixth week but it still climbed back up to the top 5 later. Just give everything time and be patient.

I think Hold It Against Me is her best lead single and video yet (which was hard to snatch Gimme More's wig for me but it did). I have high hopes for Femme Fatale--- I'll have to judge within the next few months whether or not it's better than Blackout.


We will have a performance. Will you just chill out. Anything we get this era will be better than that VMA performance.
