I'm reading so much bullsh*t in this thread. Katy is a singles artist, period. Her promo is absolutely ridiculous and the fact that she barely scrapped 1 million after over 6 months after her album was released is even more absurd.
That album is a trainwreck anyway, so that could be another explanation for it selling so poorly.
And Katy doesn't sell sh*t outside the US. Her singles are bound to be popular because she is the perfect example of a singles artist. Rihanna actually managed to evolve, she covers much more ground worldwide than Katy and Loud is actually selling very well.
And Katy hasn't had anything remotely close to Umbrella, one of the best pop records of all time. I challenge anyone to argue that.
Katy's closest attempt as a significant pop cultural song was probably Hot N Cold, but next to icons like Toxic, Bad Romance, Umbrella or Crazy in Love it sounds like a joke.
And I appreciate no one even attempting at a Gaga mention. Yall know she slays in both the singles AND albums department, leaving all your lessor faves in the dust.
