I think the main idea of the video is letting go of "old" Britney. People keep saying that they miss the "old" Britney, and in the video it's like she's fighting with herself in order to let go of her past. She throws colors at her previous music videos which symbolizes that is she content with that era and it was colorful period in her life, but now 2011 Britney. You may like the old one better, but that one is dead and gone.
That's why in the first parts of the video she wears white dressed, but when the "old" Britney dies, she dances in black.
