The Amazing Feat here is that it was not even "Three Full Days"....And to quote on another member's quote, can we only imagine what the Sales would have been for a full week: I predit over a Million Digital Singles in a Full Week, at Least!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a travesty that a song as terrible as this can go to #1 so easily but a decent (at the time) hit like Bad Romance has to settle for #2.
The US charts can be quite the problem child at times.
It has happened to Britney time and time again (the already-forgotten "3" and one of her weakest efforts HIAM went #1 while the amazing "Toxic" didn't) so you should be used to how the US charts operate, no?

If digital sales mattered before like they do today, she would have had a lot more hits in the US. "Toxic" was #1 digitally. "My Prerogative" failed to chart on the Hot 100 and it was top 10 digitally (#7 if I recall well.)
