They purposefully released the song earlier. It's the anniversary of Alexander McQueen's death, but more importantly, if it makes a #1 debut on the Hot 100 it will become the 1,000th #1 song of all-time. Releasing on Friday gives two extra days of sales & airplay for that to happen.

All that truely matters (to me) is if the song slays and is awesome (which it will.)
