You know girls, I feel like a horrible stan for saying this, but... I've never been more afraid for Gaga's career than I am right now.
Normally, pop lyrics look really bad on paper when you don't hear the song, and this is no exception. But the thing is, this has a lot of LGBT references and much of the world - especially America - I'm not sure if they're ready for something like this to be all over the radio. And some people are already taking offense to some of the racial language in the song, even though Gaga is clearly not a racist. I don't know. Generally, all pop songs are saved by the production, but this song really is going to have to. This looks really cheesy just seeing the lyrics, and she's really going to have to bring it with AMAZING production.
I'm really afraid that the public won't catch on to Gaga's message and this era will flop. She has the world in her hands but this really seems like it could happen. We can't let it happen. Gaga is going to rule 2011, and we will all make sure of it, even if this new album sucks (which I really hope it doesn't).
/ end rant, I know no1curr but I really just have shaky feelings about this era, it will either smash or tank, there's no "moderate success" or "underperforming" involved
Don't worry. While I am sure majority of Gaga's success will come from outside of America, radios will not ignore her because of the lyrical content. If she were a new artist, she'd be in deep ****. All this means is that Radio Disney and Kidz Bop will push this under the rug. Other than that, Gaga should be fine. It is easy to assume that Americans don't want to hear about embracing gays, but Gaga's aim here is for the pop market...in which younger people these days generally do not care so long as the song itself kicks ass. So as long as the production is good, Gaga could be singing about ******** in the woods and I think people would buy it lol
Mind you the promo for this is going to be incredible
I hope and pray each night for what could possibly be the best promo at this stage of the era: an AOTY win for The Fame Monster. I hope all of you are praying for it too

The song will do well, I can just tell.
It might not have major longevity, but We R Who We R, Raise Your Glass, and Firework all went #1, and they're all songs about loving yourself.
I feel like she's going out on a limb here and taking a risk but it MIGHT actually work for her.
The lyrics are admittedly cheesy but could be worse. I like the beginning about her mother.
The worst part is the whole "Gay, Straight, Bi, or Transgender." :/
Anyone who is doubting this era will probably like the song more than those that love this era because they dont have high expectations for it. So when Born This Way is finally released they're gonna be twice as slayed as they would otherwise!

I was having a ****** day before I read the lyrics, and I was very disappointed so now I'm just bitter. Hopefully I'll be better tomorrow
