Yeah you're ego, but it depends what type of kind gestures. Somebody calling you (hot,cute,smart,funny,talented,amazing,kind,etc.) all boost your ego (even if you don't realize it) which makes you like that person more. Or, is it them just being genuine towards you (talking,initiating,hugs,caring,loving,etc.)?
I read your I don't have a bad attitude with an attitude  . Well, that just means you speak your mind and don't think about others feelings until the damage is already done. You're blunt without realizing in that process I'm similar, but I know when I'm saying something that will hurt the person's feelings since I take a second tothink if it's rude or not. I usually end up saying it anyway though since I don't believe in not speaking your mind. Unless what's in your mind is incredibly dumb then it can stay there.

I don't have a bad attitude it's just sometimes when I get to talking I can't stop & then sometimes I say mean and hurtful things and I don't realize they might be mean until afterwards. Of course sometimes I meant to be mean & it was something that needed to be said. 
I don't need a man to make me happy.
