Sorry Nicole, he really is one hell of a photographer and that obviously translated into a gorgeous video. Whether you liked the plot or not, the cinematography and visuals of the Alejandro video are undeniably stunning. I'm one of the few who actually got the video and really enjoyed the twist she gave to the song. But I completely understand people not liking it.
I think he did an excellent job and he was right up Gaga's alley.
My one issue with the video is that part where she's going all Liza Minelly singing in a bar with sunglasses a la Cabaret. And she says Alejandro like 20 times. I get that scene and why it's important for the video but... Kind of overblown. They could've gone with the "you know that I love you boy" again or whatever. It got really tiring by the end.
I had to buy another physical copy of TFM the other day and I've been listening to it a lot since. It still sounds so fresh because there is nobody else like GaGa. All of her rivals sound the same, but I guess that's what happens when your work is credited to the same producer.
