Her point was that digital cameras will be dead in the future, because everyone just takes pictures with their phone. But who actually takes the time to upload those pictures to the computer and print them out from there? It's the simplest way of printing pictures from your cell phone considering connections are being done by bluetooth now.
The whole concept isn't new anyways, it's been out for a couple years in a smaller form. I actually own that smaller printer and it's pretty neat. But GaGa made it more fashionable and more mainstream. Polaroid isn't going to flop with a product that has already been on the market.
