My god. She flopped with ONE album. All her other albums had up-tempos that she belted her face off with.
"Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know", "Overprotected", "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman", "Boys", "Radar" all flopped, while "Dirrty", "WooHoo" and "You Lost Me" flopped.
Does anyone make a big deal out of that? ...No.

I'm not here for the local accomplishments. "Overprotected" was a worldwide top 10 single and went platinum in quite a few countries and "I'm Not A Girl" was a worldwide top 10 single as well and went gold in about 6 countries. "Boys" was a worldwide top 20 hit and went gold in a few countries too.
And "Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" was a worldwide top 10 single too and it helped "Oops!...I Did It Again" go diamond.
And "Radar" was released only because of the contract she had with Bloodshy & Avant and it was completely unprompted and it obviously underperformed (it was a three years old song,) but managed to sell over half a million in the US and over a million worldwide.
The only 'flop' in her discography could be "I Love Rock 'N' Roll" which was a pointless release, the video was better than the song itself, and it managed to sell over half a million and it was a top 40 hit too.
And you forgot about "The Voice Within," "Car Wash," "Not Myself Tonight," "Express" and "Tilt Ya Head Back," "Tell Me" and "Castle Walls" too.

About the article per se, it's kinda frustrating to see that great talent like Christina is not getting the success she deserves, because talent and artistry should always be recognized. But then again, I don't like how people act like Christina is over, because she's far from over. One 'flop' doesn't mean anything, and even if she doesn't achieve the comercial success that she once had, she'll always keep making music, because that's what she loves to do.
And Burlesque is far from a flop. Sure, it's not the success that I wanted it to be, but it's been one month, and it already made 40 million dollars, which is kinda nice for an original musical. And it hasn't been released in many countries yet, so it's looking good so far.
I'm seeing it next week!

Some of X's songs you mentioned went top 10 WW, and weren't even released. Your whole argument’s null, and void.

The Voice Within was a Top 40 Billboard Hit, and a Top 15 pop hit. Car Wash was not movie single, Express was never officially released or sent to radio, NMT was a Top 40 hit, and Top 15 Pop hit, and the others were featured singles.
And stop trying to make up for US flops by talking about WW.
I could do that also.
Im talking about the US Duca, and in the US all those Britney singles flopped.

Britney was blacklisted during the "Britney" on the era, everyone knows that. And "Radar" was a three years old song and it managed to sell over 500K, more than all of Christina's recent singles combined.
And Britney isn't a local act.

Duca, Radar never officially sold 500k, and NMT is at 400k, so I doubt thats true.
I dont give a **** if she was blacklisted. Stop making excuses and accept the fact she flopped with a lot of singles in the US! My god!
And stop acting like Xtina is a local act. Stripped was HUGE in the UK, bigger than any of Britneys in the UK, and The Voice Within, Car Wash, Tell Me, and Tilt Ya Head Back were all Top 10 in numerous other countries, and Castle Walls hasnt been officially released.
Im done, no more fighting.
Rihanna flopped with We Ride hard as hell, and Rockstar 101 was basically a flop.
And I sitting here going, "everyone knows A Girl Like Me was Rihannas first successful era, so We Ride was bound to flop, and Rockstar 101 isnt a radio friendly song and Rated R wasnt successful?" No.
Ive accepted it.

who cares? Katy and Ke$ha are never critics favourites, yet they're on top of the charts, I'd rather not loose my record lable than be favourite for screeching vocals.
My faves aren't the most talented but they **** on some of yours.

Flopping and being blacklisted are two completely different things.
Clear Channel, which controls every major radio station in the US, was supposed to sponsor her "Dream Within A Dream" world tour (supporting "Britney",) but she ended up changing her mind going with Pepsi, which pissed the Clear Channel off causing them to blacklist her on US radio. She was never on the radio. And that's why all the singles from the album were nowhere to be found on the US charts cause digital era was just starting back then.
Later, she signed the contract with Clear Channel for "The Onyx Hotel" tour (supporting "In The Zone"), and she was back on radio getting hits again.

I mean, while I personally think Christina's recent album was a mess and she's a bitch, ya'll can't deny that the woman can sing her ass off 10000x better than the majority of these talentless bitches running the game now.
I miss the days when people used to SING on songs. I'm not sure what the **** has gotten into people and now they stan for talentless autotuned trashy people like Kesha. I mean, really?
Pop music needs to return to TALENT status.
