"BOMT" set the stage for Pop music. She lead the Teen Pop phase. "CIL" is iconic, but it didn't begin anything but different revamps of it later in her career. As for the bolded part, BOMT is simply mentioned as iconic.

While it may be debated that others are more talented that song put Britney on the map like no other. People who were in girl bands weren't starting from scratch and as much as I love Gaga Just Dance is no BOMT.

You don't see people dressing up as Xtina or Beyoncé or Rihanna from their debut video either do you? Not to mention that it is 10 years on and it is still as popular for fancy dress parties, even amongst those who were like 5 when it came out. The look is instantly recognisable and that music video made everyone else have to step up their game.
