I know Alicia at least donates a lot of money and time to this cause. Some of the others probably have donated as well. The main purpose of campaigns like these is to raise awareness and involve the public so that new philanthropists can be born. That way even after the campaign is over. There will be new life-long supporters of the cause = even more $$$
