I can be a son for someone who is not my mother or my father.... He/she cares so much about me to consider me a son.

It's not any difficulty to understand it, regardless of what you say, I think it is stupid and it ruins the whole song for me, it makes her sound stupid too, which she isn't.

A son is a male offspring; a boy or man in relation to his parents. The female analogue is a daughter.

I think you mean, do I not understand what a figure of speech is. Because a figure is irrelevant to this conversation. And for the record I do, but a metaphor is never simply one word, in this case son. 'Lets have some fun this beat is sick, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick' is indeed a metaphor, but note that there is more than one word there.

I mean no offence but maybe the fact that English is your 3rd language has caused you to misinterpret the line or not understand it yourself.
