I just want to know what ATRL-ers feel about the allegations against Michael. I don't believe them one bit, but there are people who truly do think that Michael did molest those kids. I'm not trying to sway anybody's judgment, so do tell me if you think he's guilty or innocent.

At the very least, his behavior was extremely bizarre, if not downright problematic. But the allegations did come up multiple times, and in the first trial, he even settled out of court. That alone is pretty damning. Being a celebrity, I think he was forgiven in the court of public opinion, especially after his death.

Its to hard to say. To many opinions of the general public are so bias. You have to seperate the music and the allegations. As a fan and human being I would like to think the allegations were all false. But on the other hand the evidence infront of us is also preety damming. But on the flipside alot of people did take advantage of his situation and power in the industry, looking for money looking for a scandal.

I guess we will never know the truth, but he deserves to be remembered for his music, and not this.

I personally believe he was guilty. I have several child molesters in my family, and they all acted similar to how Michael did with that situation. Plus, that documentary pretty much sealed the deal. Maybe he just truly didn't see anything wrong with it? I know several people that thing it's totally fine/normal, so that could've been the case. I agree with supaspaz, the settlement was sort of an indirect confession. Would you settle with someone out of court for something you didn't do?

Hun, I'm not disagreeing with you that some of those were extortion and for the money, I just don't think all of them were. But like someone else said, we'll never know the truth. And this thread is probably going to get reported/deleted anyway.

I think it's pretty much 50/50. His fans/supporters don't believe it, but haters/99.9% of the general public believe it. Too bad we'll never know the truth.

There was no evidence to show he was, so I have no reason to believe he was.

Both of those families were extremely sketchy (when I get a chance I'll post a letter Chris Tucker's fiancee wrote to the second family. They tried to extort money from him as well) If I recall correctly, the first case was settled out of court because his insurance company made him. I believe he wanted to take it to trial.

Child molesters generally do not stop at 2 victims, and certainly not a decade apart. But I suppose people will believe what they want.

The Jordan Chandler statement was fake. A random blog made it up. He never confessed to lying. Somebody posted a confession on a blog the day after Michael died and it got news coverage.

I definitely think he was off his rocker (which is part of why he's legendary, let's be honest), but it ends there.

The media really distorted their reporting on his case. A CNN reporter actually pretaped his commentary on what he was sure to a guilty verdict before the verdict was even announced (I hope he had some bread to go with that egg on his face). Why? Because guilty sells, innocent doesn't.

Now that he's dead, negative press around him doesn't sell, so most of the press is positive. Pretty perverse, if you ask me.

The only thing he was guilty of was being dumb. He loved kids, and showed it a certain way that raised flags to others.
