I don't think it has anything to do with Gaga though.
Maybe it's not even music-related, but just some kind of iTunes update.

I read somewhere that Apple is now selling their products (such as MacBook and stuff) through iTunes as well!
I doubt it has anything to do w/ Gaga

If they make iTunes a subscription service...that changes the whole music industry. How would Nielsen SoundScan track sales?
