I didn't contradict myself. I said that Lady GaGa is more popular now than when she released Bad Romance. She was still a new artist at the time, she's accomplished so much during the past year, she's clearly an established act now.
The situation was entirely different with Beyonce. She was releasing a much anticipated single from her third studio album and she didn't have the selling power to top the chart. BR was the first single from the re-release of GaGa's first album.
