gaga songs are pop songs not alternative songs and she is supposed to have million fans.

kesha made a huge impact and people recognize and appreciate her..that's why people buy her songs

the itunes friendly thing could be true though.. Pokerface and just dance were her only #1s and they are the most generic.

Why are people saying that GaGa could only dream of a #1 début on the Hot 100?

If she came back with a song like JD then it's certainly a possibility. #1 débuts are about luck and timing.

They're about luck and timing to a certain extent. You still have to be able to sell a certain amount. The rest depends on the competition.

It's not about the name, it's about the song and the competition. The name helps but only to a certain extent.

Yes. GaGa is far more popular than Ke$ha is. Her popularity has grown since BR was released, she has a cult-like following.

Very few artists can, Britney Spears can and some other artists that have long established fan bases.

Gaga is fast headed that way but I'm not sure yet. For her at the moment it would take a certain amount of luck and good timing. It will happen though.
