I disagree. Academic worth and worth amongst your real friends is more important than on a forum where people project personas instead of themselves. 99% of the people here you will never truly know, nevermind meet in real life, it is easy to be sneaky and two-faced and this place just isn't reality.
It is a nice place to discuss common interests but I would never ever place the worth of peoples opinions of me here over school, family or friends. And anyone that does, or even values popularity here a lot, is quite sad. It's nice to be liked...but it isn't important and it doesn't effect life overall.
I agree on the Academic part and I would add professional worth as well. But as far as the friends go I don't agree. People can be just as fake if not faker in real life right in your face. If anything people are themselves on the internet where they don't have to censor or hide who they really are. I don't know your personal experience so I can't speak for you or anyone else. But the people I've spoken to and the boys I keep company with on the internet are more open and real than everyone I've met in College and High School except my personal group of best friends or people I've known for many many years. It takes people a long time to open up and be themselves in a face to face situation when you don't know them or you've just met them. Some people here have even admitted that they feel free to be themselves here without judgment from peers and they do it quickly.

We are the ones who are underrated. Our opinions don't count as much as the others, our games either flop, do mediocre, or the more popular people act as if we are invisible.
This whole list is basically my Countdown/Game family and just one portion of awesome people on this site. I hope that one day all of our voices will be heard instead of just the people who stand out because of drama or other reasons.
