I saw Blind Side and Sandra was great. But, Gabourey gave heart breaking performance that will always be remembered. Sandra didn't give me that at all.

Sandra won due to the industry hype and the fact that she finally gave a performance out of her "norm."

But, I read this report on the reason why he doesn't get as much Oscar support is because his movies are more catered towards the "black" community. Precious was an exception in many cases some believe it was because of Oprah's involvement. I think he deserves one for this movie but who knows.

That's because her norm was comedies with occasional somewhat action flicks here and there before Blind Side. I still don't believe that it's reason enough for her to have gotten the award but maybe I'm just being biased.

Yeah, her role wasn't groundbreaking. To be honest, a lot of times, these actors win awards for other reasons outside of the performances. I remember there being a big hoopla over the Halle Berry/Denzel wins in 2002 and why they won. It was crazy. Same with Jennifer Hudson. Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman... the whole 9.

I remember the Halle, Jennifer, Reese and Denzel thing also. But I can't recall the rest.
All I know is one of the actresses in CG better get acknowledgement from the Academy and maybe a win but I haven't really seen it yet so I can't justify my reasoning other than the trailers and clips I've seen.

Tyler Perry does not deserve an Oscar. I hate how people try and make it seem like his movies are just groundbreaking in the African american movie. Precious is an example of ground breaking.. Why did I get married too is Tylers best movie. Diary and Reunion were good but then everything after was the same movie with different actors.

Who are you to say what he deserves.
I personally notice his lack of directing talent and his overuse of the prince charming who strolls his ass in at the end of every movie to save the defenseless (never loved before) woman. But even with those things his scripts bring the drama and pain. Is that worthy of an Oscar ? Who knows maybe not. But they are worthy of some form of acknowledgment outside of BET, NAACP, etc.

And, his plays are occasionally **** sis. So refrain from one beats the other.
