I know, of course she does. But her singles recently have been ballad after ballad. Every release after Sparkle have been typical Ayu and nothing interesting. That last sentence is a biggie and I see what you're saying. For example, I love MOON and blossom and I feel like they are five star songs
, even though you and others might say Ayu has already done those sounds before with her music, and I could see where you're coming from. It doesn't bother me personally though because if I like a song, I like it regardless of w/e. Pretty much any song out there is a sound, genre, and style that has been done, just maybe not by any one artist. Say another J-pop artists who normally does R&B type songs and gained some popularity suddenly released song like MOON, and it was a big success and continued to further their career. Well MOON was a new sound for that artists, but it's wasn't a new sound that folks haven't heard before because Ayu has done and nailed that sound before.
