Her single sales are still relatively stable. I can't see her album selling less than them, so still believe she'll do 200k.

Single sales this era have been lower than RnRC singles and RnRC only did 205k first week. I'm a little worried since her albums sales have been declining with each release

I just realized that I misread your post. You meant 200k in the first week, not overall. Yeah, I don't know if she'll do 200k. If this pattern continues, I think she'll be in the 160k-170k range.

I wish she'd sell 200k. This is still good considering she's been in the business for 15 years releasing albums and singles very consistently. I guess I would be a little bored with her too if I followed her from the start lol.

I don't want Ayu to fade away anytime soon
If her album sales do decline then I hope they don't decrease drastically.

I was born in Japan, so I've been following Ayu since her first single when I was a teen. There have been times when I was disappointed, but I haven't gotten tired of her yet.

I'm predicting 150-175k first week and about 250-270k total for the new album which is pretty good.

I can't at yall fretting about Ayu's upcoming album sales.
Ayu is awesome, she continues to release great music and give great performances...I'm quite sure it's just that she's been in the game consistently since 1998. But I still don't get why her sales are slipping with each release. Why would you get tired of the person if they're still doing a damn great job? If their material is still great? And even then, there's always a new generation of music consumers on there, so I just don't get it. There must be some other factor that is a little more difficult to pinpoint. I wonder just what can make her sales go back up again? Even if not sky high like back when, but just rise some...

I think it's because of her obsession with ballads. I love her ballads but she needs to slow down.

I think its just the loss of popularity and the fact she has been in the business so long. Her sales were actually pretty stable and healthy till 2005 when she started getting notable drops in sales.

Well I'm talking about her sales going way back. Since like 2002/3 or so they've been slipping, and while it's been a gradual decline which still saw really good sales, it's still slipping even today. I wonder the reason for the decline going way back and continuing today. I know for like every popular artist there is a rise, peak, and fall, but I've never quite understood why that is the case for artists that always do a great job with their career.
If an artist releases great music that someone liked and they bought that artist's album, then what makes that same person not want to buy their next album even though the artist released great music that time as well?
Of course we have the overall decline in album sales to consider, with people buying less albums period, but still.

Ayu, her team, and Avex gotta find out what can be done to makes those sales rise.
I think Avex might be focusing on Kuu more though.

Honestly...I really don't know. I THINK it may be because people are getting sick of her ballads but she has always been a massive ballad-maker.
I guess some people just got tired of her in general, just like Madonna. It happens to every artist eventually, especially if they've been in the industry for too long.

I think one reason for her decline might be that most of her sales now come from her fanbase rather then the public. Due to this she does extremely well for her first few days but then slips pretty quickly. For comparison:
Rock N Roll Circus
First Day: 85,142
Total Sales: 318,454
Universe
First Day: 76,056
Total Sales: 371,178

I think if Ayu and Kuu did a collab album and promoted it a lot it could sell over 1m copies at least and maybe even 2m
