If you went back in time to 2006 and played "Just Dance" for someone and told them it would be a hit in the near future, they wouldn't believe you.

You can see mainstream music is moving in a more "house" direction for 2011. The transition is already happening with tracks like "Only Girl" slowly easing us into it.

I'm not trying to say whether this will be a smash or not, I'm just reminding you that the definition of radio friendly changes every few years and it's about to change again.

Nooo.... it looks like many artists are going to be adopting the 'house' genre
I dislike this genre, especially "Like A G6"...

This ok... may take a while to grow on me. When "Boom Boom Pow" was released I hated it but after a while it grew on me and I loved it. I really hope the same goes for this track... I just don't like the "house" production atm...

No. It was beginning WAY before "Womanizer." Check out "Promiscuous" for example. "Hips Don't Lie" even had a lot of dance elements in it.

A lot of music now is becoming a lot more dance influenced with house elements in it. I reckon may artists will repeat this formula... especially if this song smashes... which I am sure will.

This. Womanizer is dance-pop....I actually think the modern migration in the US started in pieces/bits on Please Don't Stop the Music...then full blown -- with G6.

Only Girl is really one of the first REAL Euro Dance/ Euro House tracks done by a popular American mainstream artist. If it wasn't Rihanna, it probably wouldn't even be in the Pop genre

Yep, once it is done by a star like Rihanna it will become a trend... and many artists will adopt this style. Ke$ha's new track has house elements, and this song is heavily house influenced so I reckon we'll be hearing a lot of this now.

"Don't stop the music" in 2007 then "Poker Face" in 2008 explode the Dance music in US RADIO ...
