For Gaga...under 2m will be dire because all of her singles (Yes, I'm including Alejandro because it's very apparent it will pass) have passed that. Any single not to have, will be considered dire

In fact it is for that very reason that I thought it would sell more. Typical "pop" albums have a tougher time selling.

I'm too tired to explain. And no, it's not commercial. Just compare it with the music you hear on the radio today.

Rihanna became super mega popular during the GGGB era. The RR era is a sharp style change from what people liked and loved about Rihanna.

And RB is the only commercial song on the album.

People will always discredit Rihanna no matter what, but I couldn't care less because she's my fave and I love the music she does and that's enough to make me satisfied.

Alejandro was released 6 months after the album came out and had sold 3M copies (both versions), so 2M is solid. But for a first single, she'll have to do way better than 2M.

Nicole, can you imagine how disappointed we would be if GaGa only managed to sell 5 million singles from Born This Way? All of her singles thus far will cross the 2 million mark, she's been so consistent. It's a shame that radio didn't prop up her sales for some of those songs so that she could have topped the Hot 100 like RB. Nearly all of GaGa's songs have sold more than it did despite charting lower, truly extraordinary.

I think those are solid, healthy sales. I'm somewhat impressed with Russian Roulette's sales, considering how much it underperformed. I didn't know Hard was at 1.7 million, I thought it had sold considerably less. 1.7 million is actually almost great for a #8 peak on the Hot 100.

Rude Boy's sales should be much higher, but I'm glad it went double platinum at all. #1 singles these days should be able to go triple platinum.

- GGGB sold 8M+ worldwide, 17m singles in the US alone. And that was before the Digital era became stronger. And I guarantee you it would have sold more if they chose Breakin Dishes as last single rather than Rehab, and let the singles have more time to breathe. Do you honestly think that RR sounds anything like GGGB?

- Britney is the only Pop artist that has strong fanbase.

- I hope BTW will be mostly ballads / dark theme like RR.
