I hope he'll flop this time so that his ego won't be so annoying. He needs to stop being an asshole. But nonetheless, his selling power is still undeniable. I'd say at least 300k and more. His VMA performance was lame and I have heard nothing on his 2nd single after Power flopped.

Katy and Trey have both shown that hit singles have few implications for first-week numbers. It's all about the size of the fanbase. Kanye has a loyal fanbase, and his album is highly anticipated. He's also been great at using twitter as a promotional tool. I agree with the projection.

Not having to rely on hit singles is the advantage of having an urban fanbase.

I wasn't around last year, but did anyone predict Rihanna to do more than 180k? I bet people were expecting 400k or some weird **** like that.

I would like Rihanna to be the #1 but maybe Susan Boyle could snatch it?

"Mine" kind of underperformed so IDK what to think about Taylor Swift anymore, she has lost a bit of power...

and Kanye with not a hit single...

I want to say one thing... Taylor WONT SELL THAT MUCH.... her first single has been a dissapointment and I dont see the hype around her anymore....

Yeah, nobody expected Rated R to sell less than 200k. The predictions went from 250 - 700k and we were left broken-hearted in the end.

Taylor is really hard to guess. Again, I don't think people should underestimate her just because her single is underperforming. She's coming off a massive era, and her fanbase will be there for her that first week.

I don't think this album will sell as much as Fearless in the long run, but I expect her to open with 700k+.

You're truly underestimating Taylor. If there's some **** that you shouldn't underestimate, it's Taylor's selling power. Her both albums sold at least 5 million. If not high opening number, she'll be camping inside the Top 10 all year. Sad but true.

Taylor's album is already top 10 on Amazon. She may not sell a million first week, but do not be surprised if she sold 500k+ and continue to sell well throughout the rest of the season. Hits do not sell albums the same. She is way past that stage of needing a pop hit to sell. She has country backing her as well.

Yeah, country fans buy a lot

but I still think she won't do EXTRAORDINARY well like her past albums, my prediction for her is 500-550k.

I guess we'll have to wait how her next single performs (btw "Mine" didn't flop at all, just that I expected more from her)

I'm sure. Susan is already #1 on Amazon two months before the album release. Susan Boyle's base is much older and buy albums. Plus, Rihanna can't really sell albums like that. Even if Boyle doesn't open up with what her last album did, she will definitely outsell Rihanna and maybe anybody releasing this season. I expect her to sell like Bocelli did last year.

Mine outpeaked the first 2 singles of Fearless even with a rush release. And I expect her label to start releasing promo singles on itunes to increase the hype soon enough, all of which will probably peak top 20 at the Hot 100.

Susan Boyle is already #1 on Amazon. Amazon isn't necessarily predictive, but the Amazon head said she has a significant lead. And this is before her promotion (which includes an appearance on Glee).

Rihanna really has no shot. No one does, except maybe Taylor.
