You don't get it.
There's always one song that is most often associated with a certain artist.
Imagine you are surveying 10 people: you tell them a name of the artist and ask them to tel you the first song that comes to their mind when they hear that artist's name.
My guess is that about 6-7 will mention GTPS if you say P!nk. I think about 8 (80%) will say Bad Romance in case of GaGa.
Thats my approach. Please tell me if I am mistaken. But I believe that an artist can have one most famous song which is considered her signature song and its not required that it be her biggest hit.
