Of course you disagree with my statement. You're entitled to your opinion, but you're still condoning it.

Neither myself nor anyone in charge at ATRL condones those comments. Eli was correct in that NHB is unrestricted and unmoderated by nature, and we obviously don't encourage or support anyone saying such things, but if that thread is to exist, we don't want to moderate it. I would rather get rid of these threads entirely than moderate them.
NHB, SYG, and RT are meant to be all-inclusive. Something might not be appropriate for
one of those threads, but all that means is that it would belong in one of the other 2 threads. The overall point is that between these 3 threads, there is to be virtually nothing that you can't post -- a ridiculous amount of freedom for a message board.
It is a completely different argument IMO between moderating content (individual people's posts and opinions) and setting up the guidelines for the technical delivery method of linked images and external media that falls into the "NSFW" category. You've been drawing a direct parallel between the two this whole time, and I'm just not seeing it.
If we want to reframe this argument correctly, it should raise this question:
Does the freedom that ATRL allows in its unmoderated threads go too far in allowing certain members to post offensive thoughts? Should we then do away with these unmoderated threads and enforce a better standard of our members at ALL TIMES, making no exceptions? That, I think, would be a more relevant debate.
