I don't necessarily take her seriously when she says it's going to be the anthem of our generation. That's not something you can plan, we have to wait and see what happens and the impact it makes. We don't know what songs from this era are going to be remembered in 20 years time so it's too early to judge something like that. The media makes her sound arrogant now because she has received so much praise in general, now some publications are going to bash her. She might appear arrogant at times, but she can back it up so that's OK.

I liked the Alejandro video, it was so different to her other videos. I loved the complete lack of colour and the almost war-film feel to it.

But I know a lot of people who hated it, it scared the crap out of my little cousins.

I think her best video is Bad Romance but obviously she can't recreate that. A little more simplicity and a little more colour is how she should go for the next video. And please god no more meat.

Videos are good for promo but if you already love her music it's hardly going to effect whether you buy it or not.

I think it was her biggest failure. IMO.

But I'm glad she was so over-the-top during this era.

I loved the video for Telephone, but tit's not the type of video I would watch repeatedly like I did with Bad Romance. I didn't like the song Telephone that much either, but for me the most off-putting thing about it was its length. I like the video to fit the song perfectly, that's what they are made for. When videos are too long they can loose focus of what they are supposed to do - promote the song.

You're not going to have a huge smash if you only appeal to your own fans, that's why videos are important. So many people who buy songs on iTunes are just casual buyers, they buy songs because they like them and not because of the artist who sings them. They show not loyalty to any artist, that's very much how most people are nowadays.

no the concept was great but steven klein is such a fail.. he did a terrible job
and the edit was so awful.

the intention of recreate a 2010 vogue was really interesting.. gaga wanted to make a video about dadt (so about gays ) and she thought the best thing to do was to pay homage to madonna and vogue ( the most " gay" video ever). BUt the final result wasn't great

even lovegame has a great concept but it looks so cheap

sometimes i have a feeling that gaga has so many ideas in her head that her works are a maker or a breaker

I agree but in all honesty I don't know very many people who sit down and watch music TV or the videos, it tends to be they like the song or artist so they look for the video.

I think that overall it is the quality of the music and the video is very much second.

Videos make a really big impact. Songs in the UK never tend to do well if the video is not getting much TV airplay. Last year Bad Romance didn't start off well and it didn't move up until the video was released. They are the best method for promoting a song, sometimes if I dislike a song I might change my opinion of it once I see the video. A good video is often crucial to a songs success.

i don't know where you live but here in italy her videos aren't played and only a few songs are played on the radios.

but gaga is weird so tabloids love talking about her and in this way she appeals to a lot of people

I live in Ireland, her videos are played but honestly I don't know anyone who sit's and watches music TV. Pretty much everyone I know, and not just in this country, looks up the video of the song they like on the internet and not on the TV. I think people will mostly already like the song if they are looking up the video, either that or the video has generated hype or shock-factor.

only britney spears has hardcore fans because of her personal life and she also appeals to the lovers of generic pop songs ( britney spears = pop music)

gaga hasn't so many die hard fans but she has fans because of the quality of the work

i 'm not bashing britney spears or gaga but while britney spears is (or seems) real Gaga isn't real

gaga is a performer so people can relate to her only for her message or her songs ( same with madonna)
yes she is supersweet with her fans and she is adorable but i think her fans aren't that interesting in gaga personal life ecc,.. they just want good songs with good videos
