Rihanna’s label and production company SRP Records have responded to the unauthorized leak of ‘Who’s That Chick’.
“It’s a leak. Def Jam is pulling it down as fast as possible. The song is not a single. It’s for the clubs only” says her label “The album is still being put together. Many songs in the mix. Can’t answer for sure if it is on the album”.
The David Guetta-produced dance cut was recorded in February, and the producer previewed the song earlier this year in a previous interview. The music video was shrouded in secrecy as NOBODY even knew that she shot a video for the song. The track has been renamed on several occasions. Originally, it was called ‘Adrenaline Rush’ and then ‘Who’s That Girl’, until they finally settled with ‘Who’s That Chick’.
‘Who’s That Chick’ is now being billed as an official Rihanna joint for her new album ‘Loud’ (out on November 16th). Island Def Jam are reportedly FURIOUS that the video got out because it was not scheduled to become public until October (according to Universal France). It was even rumoured that they intended for it to become a future single but with SRP shooting that down, it’s highly likely that the clip is intended to become a viral clip, like ‘Wait Your Turn’.
Amidst yesterday’s big leak, Rihanna and her crew have left Hong Kong and are now back in Los Angeles to prepare for the launch of her new LP, as well as promotion for new single ‘Only Girl (In The World)’.
