If their label half-asses their attempt, then they won't succeed.

"Nobody" actually had a chance to be a minor hit, it broke the top 100 on mediabase CHR/Pop airplay with NO adds and very minimal promo. I don't think it would have gone top 40 regardless, but JYPE just doesn't have enough connections in the states to time everything out perfectly so that their songs get maximum exposure. They kinda have to take anything they can get in the way of real promo.

Their album comes out in January so let's hope they get their **** together by then and release a GOOD song to radio.

That's a good point. Its a shame that a lot of these companies are the reason artists are doing badly. Utada at least had Def Jam, I know she did well for being relatively unknown but I needed more .

Yeah you'd think they'd respect a legend and give her a bigger budget for promotion, but oh well. I can see why they didn't really promote "Exodus" because it's not commercial enough, but CBTM could have made a bigger impact than it did. At least it went top 40 on rhythmic.

I was actually getting frustrated with her for a while because the album had potential but neither her or Island Def Jam seemed to care.

I know right!?!!

She worked very hard trying to win radio stations over which was a great idea but why did she stop doing promotion afterwards. She did nothing for months when she could have been making Music Videos, etc.

I remember she used the excuse that she had her illness flare up, the one in her throat (forgot the name) and she had to take a break for a few weeks. That is a good excuse but come on. :-/

I would have loved to have seen a video for Dirty Desire. I always imagined a cheeky video involving a webcam/internet/long-distance lust or something, because of that one line "and you can't wait to see me, to see me in the flesh", which obviously meant "naked" but also could be interpreted as "in person" for the video concept....

Loveless was I mess, I didn't make it through the first volume.
I would think so since the Oricon and BJ charts are somewhat different.
