IMO if you remain relevant and retain consistent success and influence after a decade, you can possibly become an icon. I think terms like "legend" & "icon" are used far too often. Especially on this site. I'd refer to her currently as being a phenomenon. Many people were phenomenons in the past, but they fell off. If Gaga can continue top herself, she'll be an icon soon enough. After two decades, she can qualify for legend status. She can do it sooner if she wins 16 grammys tho..
I think she'll be around for a long time & maintain a big enough influence over the pop music & scene. She's on her way to doing more great things, her career has just begun IMO.
GaGa's music is generic and cookie-cutter. Where's the hate?
People love the generic and cookie cutter music Gaga put on, so I can't see the problem. Quality-wise, her generic and cookie cutter music is at its perfection. It has the hooks, the lyrics, the beats and the attitude to back it up. Except Paparazzi, the rest are forgettable and non-relatable.

I agree. Although, I think she should've saved a few of her hits for her next album. Poker Face, Just Dance, Paparazzi, Bad Romance, career defining songs. Sometimes I question whether she'll be able to top those successes.

She can pull it off. Were any of you expecting Bad Romance to be almost as career-defining as Poker Face when it first came out?

You still have yet to prove this. You've also yet to have a response to me about Beyonce's reworked version of "Sweet Dreams" that she didn't even arrange nor did she play the piano on, yet you compared it to GaGa's most musical & artistic moments.

Oh, go sit down. This did NOT start with us. It started when the GaGa stans tried to discredit Janet at the BEGINNING of the thread. That's where it started.
This is also wrong, as I pointed out earlier, but you've also yet to respond about that. GaGa stans did not start this. On the first few pages, the negative things being said were by all non-GaGa stans. The first GaGa stan to actually say something, which I personally find completely delusional & incorrect, was inspirational4. It seems like you have taken one member, in this case, inspirational4, and labeled him "GaGa stans."
So basically all of your off-topic arguments & opinions that you've shared in this thread are completely unwarranted and irrelevant.

Finally, one relevant artist you bring to the table that makes sense. Alicia Keys .
Still though, Ms. Keys didn't turn a huge dance-pop song into a completely new acoustic piano driven ballad. She used the same chorus and hooks from Jay-Z's song (didn't change anything about them) and just simply added verses and more to the song. It's not the same my dear.
And you still didn't answer the rest of that post for me.

That's all she did? Seriously, she took an up tempo Hip Hop song, which she only did the chorus, added verses, made it into a piano ballad. Alicia did more than just a little bit. You seem to try to make it seem like GaGa is some Mozart, Stevie Wonder or somebody with a lot of artistic merit by trying to discredit those artists I mentioned. I stand by what I said, GaGa is not a musical genius and several artists are capable of doing what she did or better. I'm sticking with it.

Yes she did, and I credit her for that. But all she did was remove Jay-Z's lines in the song and replace them with new ones. That's it.
And no, I'm not acting that way...you're overreacting about it. Never did I once say that.
I stand by what I'm saying, GaGa has her own artistic merit & has proven and show her true musicality and talent. There aren't any artists out there who could do what she has done altogether in the past two years. That doesn't mean I'm saying no artist has ever made huge impact like she has in two years, I'm specifically saying nobody could be GaGa except for GaGa, and I'm sticking with that.
I'm also sticking with the fact that you threw this thread completely off topic and generalized all Lady GaGa stans for one delusional stan in the thread who didn't even start the negativity toward Janet.
