I don't think it would've been #1 because so many ppl have the album already. And radio is starting to get tired of her so I don't think the airplay would've been so great.

IMO Monster would have performed worse than Alejandro. It's summertime and every artist is flooding the airwaves with fast-tempo dance tracks (Usher, Katy, Kesha, etc.). Alejandro was a perfect fit with all the other songs that came out, it's breezy and calm, but still a fun dance song.

It wouldn't do that good right now, but I think it'd have been a hit if she released it like 2-3 months ago

Well, I'm thinking about it right now and Alejandro was actually the best choice for the 3rd single, just because it has a nice summer beat.

Alejandro should've been #1. I think it's the catchiest on the album. And I agree with gagaloo, radio is tired of her. My hit station already has Alejandro off their top 20 most played.

SHICD is way too risky.

Alejandro was the perfect choice because of the summer beat. And eventually it did great! Top 5 on Billboard Hot 100, Top 3 Worlwide.
