Taio's sales are a shame, but I guess he is in the same situation as JD. Taio's album is actually really good though IMO.

Lies. People only make trash albums these days. That's why nobody buys them.

Anyway, if this turns into a stan war it will be immediately close. Please be mature about this topic

Those artists with flops or not are already paid. Sales should be important only for record companies because they invest & dont want to lose. At the same time, they do have expectations from certain artists and they dont see for example see Janelle or Kelis be double platinum in two weeks! There is definitely a level of sales for each of these albums considering their genres, hype, longevity, promo & popularity. So I don't consider some of these as flops, the game nowadays knows a drastic fall in sales & they almost make music for free, they know it. In no way, sales take away the fact that some of these albums are highly critically accclaimed & worth a lot like Janelle's & Kelis', only for that, for me, they can't be flops and I don't care cuz their albums gave me life lol. The only drastic flop I'm thinkin is Christina's, with all the efforts, hype, promo, sexiness & her status, that is a flop.

I mean Christina outsells her and she's top 2 in this list... :-/

I think that people that call to miley the next britney is so dumb, is like the people saying that telephone was the new thriller
and xtine deserves that place in the flops, she has more of 10 years in music with sucefull albums and now only sell 180k

Jason DeRulo has had 2 smash hit singles and is being hailed as one of this generation's next superstars; by those standards, his albums sales have been nothing short of dismal.
Christina is, well, Christina. For a comeback from someone of her caliber (which some of her stans were predicting would debut north of 400K), 187K is simply disastrous. Honestly, 187K would have been horrible 1st week numbers...so for a 5-week total it is abysmal.
But yes, Miley should be included on the list...although this is her firs adult venture, so it's not such a shocker that she flopped as hard as she did.

Lady GaGa was a "flop" early on in her career. Her album debuted with 21k but eventually drove her to multi-platinum status. I'm not sure if any of these artists can do that, but it's not the end of the line for some of them. However, some of them needs to go back to the drawing board (Travie McCoy, Jason DeRulo and Christina).

Yes Janelle's album is AMAZING! The fine print on the first post says an album's presence on this list does not mean it's bad. I agree with what you're saying, but at the same time look at Kelis.....I mean 7,000 copies?

Yes, Xtina has outsold her, seeing as her album was released two weeks before her's.
To be truthful, Xtina, Big Boi, Kelis and The-Dream should be there only because they're albums have been release in the last month and a half or so, give it time.
Janelle Monae is non-commerical, what did you expect her to do, a million?

You seemed surprised -- not to mention miffed -- that people were talking about flops in a thread about flops.
