He is a good singer...he isn't pitchy, hits everything perfect. People think otherwise because he "sounds like a girl", yet act like they didn't go through a period of change in life.

Not really, Lungs I think was barely top 40 on the albums chart and hasn't even been certified Gold.

Perhaps, that's generally the reason that songs start randomly climbing. They get some form of exposure. Florence's UK success is partially attributed to hers songs being played in TV adverts.
