Obama will still have a lot of clout I think. Sure he won't be POTUS, but he's essentially the only person the Dems have right now who can steer them and inspire.

It's kinda amazing Bill got to walk out with such a great approval rating despite so many scandals. Obama didn't have a single personal scandal so far and he didn't reach that level (56 is still pretty high though).

I have a feeling Trump will try to imitate Bill's leadership style (but ofc fail miserably)

I think it comes down to the economy really. Obama is not going to get a high approval rating when no one feels the economy is currently doing well or things are improving. Bill is exceptionally likeable, and his tenure had a lot of economic prosperity. Plus I think there was a lot of feeling back then that "a man has his needs", and that double standard to do with men cheating.
