Work From Home was technically the more successful single, but I feel like What Makes You Beautiful is more well-known. A lot of people decided to go out and buy its respective album instead of the single, as the album sold a ton.

Because of streaming WMYB is eligible for 6x platinum status in the US, but they haven't factored streaming into their certs. No need to add free streams to certs when you can actually sell albums and singles

The fact that you have to discredit streaming in order to justify WMYB as being bigger tells me everything I need to know

Hard to say since both are measured with diffferent things taken into account. It would be like comparing WMYB to the first Britney single and say Britney sold better/more, while iTunes didn''t even excisted and sales weren't the pits.

So you can see the problem with using year end lists as receipts but you don't see the problem when you compare sales for a 2011 song with a 2016 song?

Logic is that WMYB has sold more than WFH by like a lot.

If you include streaming, I bet it's certifications would be much higher. Their label probably hasn't update their singles in a while.

Lack of logic is insinuating that 5th Harmony's biggest hit is bigger than One Direction's biggest hit when the latter is way more famous and successful. Not only did WMYB sell over 7M copies WW, but the album it's on has sold over 5M copies WW as well. WFH is no where on that level.

Yes, WFH is bigger than WMYB, Super Bass and Starships. Super Bass went Top 10 in 6 countries, WMYB went Top 10 in 9 countries, Starships went Top 10 in 19 countries, WFH went Top 10 in 27 countries. It doesn't take a genius to figure out which song is biggest
