Madonna in general just seemed to be in a really...weird place during the MDNA era. The whole show comes off as cold and impersonal, and I remember her saying something like she was glad when the SBHT performance was over. She clearly just was not here for any of it in 2012 for whatever reason.
OMG, U2 just announced a 24 stadium date tour for The Joshua Tree's 30th anniversary. Imagine if in 2019 or 2020 Oseary talked Madonna into doing an 30th anniversary tour heavily focused on Madonna, Like A Virgin, Vision Quest, True Blue, Who's That Girl, You Can Dance, Like A Prayer, I'm Breathless and The Immaculate Collection?
I wasn't even out until my senior year, but by that point I was already a rabid M stan so like the evidence had always been there. It's their own damn fault for not catching on.
