I saw La La Land yesterday and it was so breathtaking. Emma and Ryan were so great in that movie and I think Emma deserves that statue after watching Jackie and Arrival too. La La Land will definitely win Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Song and Best Actress.
And not people here pretending Whiplash is better than LLL. LLL is definitely miles better. The storyline and everything are just so extraordinary.
I think Manchester has the Original Screenplay edge over LLL.
It helps that the 3 big movies all have directors who wrote their films, so if LLL wins BP/BD and the other two each win Screenplay then all 3 helmers would win an Oscar.
